Bob Sikes

(June 3, 1906 – September 28, 1994) was an American politician of the Democratic Party who represented the Florida Panhandle in the United States House of Representatives from 1941 to 1979, with a brief break in 1944 and 1945 for service during World War II.

  


Coy Burgess

Coy Burgess was a Walton County Commissioner from 1967 to 1974.  Coy Burgess Loop was named in his honor


Gladys Nichols Milton

Born at Caney Creek in southern Walton County, she became nationally known in the late 1970s, when she led a legislative fight for recognition of midwives as legitimate medical practitioners. Van Ness Butler Jr 

As one of the early founders of the town of Grayton Beach, Van Ness Butler Jr., who died in 2014, is fondly remembered as a visionary. He not only recognized South Walton for its sophisticated beauty and charm, he was also one of the first of many Butlers to take an active role in the community. Van Ness Regional Beach access is named in his honor
